Four Things Decide Whether A Package Is Real.
Strip the language out of any proposal and there are four questions that actually separate a good package from an expensive dashboard login.
- Who makes the creative? On Meta, creative is most of performance. If the package says "client provides assets", you have bought campaign administration, not advertising.
- Who writes the copy? Same logic. The hook is the ad.
- How often does someone actually look at the account? "Ongoing optimisation" can mean weekly changes or a glance before the invoice goes out. Ask how often, and what they changed last month.
- What happens after the lead arrives? Almost every package stops at the lead. If nobody calls it, the lead is a name in a spreadsheet.
Everything else, reporting portals included, is secondary to those four.
What You Get At Each Level.
Australian market ranges, and what is typically in and out at each price.
| Monthly fee | Typically included | Typically excluded | Suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Under $800 | Campaign setup, basic management, a monthly report | Creative production, copywriting, landing pages, any lead follow-up | Businesses with an in-house designer and someone who answers the phone fast |
| $800 – $1,500 | Strategy, campaign management, some creative, weekly checks, reporting | Landing page builds, lead calling, cover when one person is away | Most local service businesses running a steady monthly budget |
| $1,500 – $2,500 | All of the above plus creative volume, landing pages, and in some cases lead handling | Ad spend, paid third-party tools | Businesses where speed of follow-up decides whether the job is won |
| $2,500 – $5,000 | A team, multi-channel management, formal reporting cadence | Direct access to the person actually in the account | Larger budgets where headcount on the account is genuinely needed |
| 10% – 20% of spend | Scales with budget, common for larger accounts | A predictable fee; the incentive points toward spending more | Accounts above roughly $20,000 a month in media |
The pattern to notice: between $800 and $2,500 you are mostly buying more of the same work done better and faster. Above $2,500 you are usually buying headcount, and headcount is not the same as attention.
Almost No Package Calls The Lead.
This is the part we built the business around, so treat it as a stated bias, but the observation holds regardless of who you hire. In nearly every package on the market, the deliverable is a lead. What happens next is your problem.
That matters because lead response time is the highest-leverage variable in the entire funnel and it sits entirely outside the ad account. A Meta lead is earlier in the decision than a Google lead. They were scrolling, not searching. If they hear from you in five minutes they remember filling in the form. If they hear from you the next afternoon, they have moved on, and you will conclude that the leads were rubbish when the truth is the follow-up was.
So when you compare packages, compare the whole path from ad to booked job, not the ad management line. A $1,250 package where leads sit for a day can easily cost more in lost jobs than a $2,250 package where every lead is called within the hour.
